Associations, Federations and Special Interest Groups

Aware of the importance of international cooperation for the advancement of science, INSTICC works closely together with several other national and international associations and is proud to welcome them as partners in its activities or to arrange initiatives in cooperation with them.

While several forms of partnership are welcome, INSTICC places special value in "Technical Co-Sponsorships", by means of which both associations support each other from a scientific perspective for their mutual benefit. Additionally, in this case, members of partner organizations benefit from the same registration conditions as INSTICC members.

European Union Geriatric Medicine Society


Our mission is:
- To develop geriatric medicine in the member states of the European Union as an independent specialty caring for all older people with age-related disease
- To support that these services become available to all citizens of the European Union
- To promote education and continuing professional development, and in particular an annual scientific meeting
- In conjunction with the Section of Geriatric Medicine of the EUMS, to promote geriatric medicine to the European Commission and Parliament
- To promote evidence-based guidelines for the most efficacious preventive and treatment strategies for older people in the European Union

International Medical Informatics Association


The International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) is the world body for health and biomedical informatics. As an 'association of associations', IMIA acts as a bridging organisation, bringing together the constituent organisations and their members. IMIA provides leadership and expertise to the multidisciplinary, health focused community and to policy makers, to enable the transformation of healthcare in accord with the world-wide vision of improving the health of the world population.
Inherent in IMIA’s role is to bring together, from a global perspective, scientists, researchers, users, vendors, developers, consultants and suppliers in an environment of cooperation and sharing.

Active and Assistive Living (AAL) programme


The AAL Programme is the funding activity that aims to create better conditions of life for the older adults and to strengthen the industrial opportunities in Europe through the use of information and communication technology (ICT). It carries out its mandate through the funding of across-national projects (at least three countries involved) that involve small and medium enterprises (SME), research bodies and user’s organisations (representing the older adults).
